Abstract

This study aimed to design a plan for the implementation of Good Agricultural and Environmental Practices (GAEP) at the CEIPA, based on a comprehensive diagnostic assessment of current conditions. A mixed-methods approach was applied, combining surveys of 320 students, interviews with technical staff, and direct observation of agricultural and environmental practices. The findings revealed a significant gap between theoretical knowledge (4.12/5.00) and practical application (3.25/5.00), mainly attributed to inadequate infrastructure (78%) and limited curricular integration (70%). Additionally, the use of phytosanitary products such as glyphosate and practices like controlled burning were observed. Consequently, the study concludes that the effective implementation of GAEP requires a comprehensive model that integrates regulatory, infrastructural, curricular, and research components, in order to position CEIPA as a benchmark for agricultural sustainability in Ecuador’s Amazon region.
