This reflection paper discusses the strategic role of doing classroom research in EFL classes. Research can offer an enormous opportunity to contribute through findings and reflections to the production of knowledge, improvement of pedagogical practice, encouragement of collaboration and academic discussion, and creation of learning opportunities for students and teachers. Doing classroom research creates spaces where teachers-researchers take into account the students´ context and needs, and question permanently the pedagogical strategies while they try to answer a research question. In addition, the English proficiency in many students could improve substantially thanks to taking into consideration the different findings and reflections reported by research on EFL teaching/learning.
